Ok, I’m Smitten!

While Sunday was not a warm summer day, it was a cool early evening in spring and I was in the mood for ice cream. I have been very good at giving up all the sweets I used to eat way too often and ice cream happened to be one of them. It is a rare occasion when I pick up ice cream from the store, but on a Sunday in April I had the sudden urge for something sweet.

Smitten ice cream in El Segundo had always caught my eye since I had this ice cream once before in San Francisco. I was in the area before sunset and I had to get my ice cream. Also, I couldn’t miss the light to get these photos!

When it comes to ice cream, I am a vanilla and rainbow sprinkles girl! While Smitten does have some fancier options like earl grey ice cream, I had to stick with the basics. Not only am I impressed by their flavors, which are few but powerful- they also have waffle cups! Choose between waffles cones, waffle cups, or just plain old cups, but either way it is all super tasty.

After this ice cream treat, my sweet tooth may be back. I am doing my best to avoid sugar overload, but when the heat kicks in you can bet I will be back for two scoops of vanilla and rainbow sprinkles!
